Beatutiful Pan Pacific Hotel Roof Top Wedding

We designed beautiful wedding flowers on the roof top of Pan Pacific and the venue had breath taking. Weather was fabulous and view looking over the Burrard Inlet and Stanley Park was amazing.

The wedding couple wanted a romantic and sophisticated wedding with 50 guests and the wedding was coordinated by Jessica Yuen, Simply Impressive wedding event(http://www.simplyimpressive.ca/). Upright décor team magically worked together to decorate the room with rental items such as gorgeous chair covers, crystal vase rings, candelabras and some of the fine details on the table.

Orchid paradise

I love orchids. Not only their blooms are uniquely shapped and comes in many different shapes and colors but most of them last a really long time. Every week, we receive boxes of orchids and tropical leaves from Singapore and it feels like opening up a Christmas present every single time. It traveled all the way from Singapore to our shop's door via airplane and of course I would like to treat them by submerging into a water bath to hydrate them. We call conditioning orchids in florist term. Last year November, I was lucky enough to visit a few of orchid farms in Singapore and Malaysia. We had an opportunity to talk to growers and took a tour of their farm to enjoy the beautiful orchids and to learn how they are grown. The smell of orchids were incredible and heavenly all over the farm and I only wish that every one of my customers could smell that wondeful fragant in the orchids even once.

I would like to share some photos of orchid plants and fresh cut orchids that was cut and waiting to be packed on the racks. It was just an amazing and overwheming experience!!!

Hot pink mokara is one of my favorite!

This purple mokara orchids is one of the longer lasting orchid variety.

Exotic tropical leaves are waiting to be packed on the table.

Dark purple dendrobium is one of my new favorites.

Those dendrobiums are least three feet tall. Gorgeous and so pretty!!!

Yellow Aranda orchids are resting on the drying rack.

Mandalay Project with BYU Design

Recently, we worked on another project with BYU for this time Mandalay residents in Richmond and was beautifully decorated with modern and chic furniture and patinings. BYU asked us decorate pool area and their common area with permanant arrangments.

We decorated with permanant plants in terrazo containers for the pool area. It look modern and clean.

This piece is situated in a corner of the games/entertainment room. The palm tree adds a nice touch to the room.

We also decorated with permanant arrangements for the games room. Two arrangments on the talbe and they are in the artifical water that look like real and hold the arrangment. All theses arrangements compliment very well with the furnitures BYU design selected for their client.

We were very happy with the outcome as the arrangements worked out well with BYU's design. We look forward to future projects with BYU!

Table decor and flower fair in Korea 2008

Last year, I attended the Table Decor and flower fair in Seoul, Korea. I wanted to share some photos that I took during the show. It was the third time for me to attend this show and I found it so interesting. It was such a good opportunity to see some of the latest trends on table decors and interior designs. I particularly liked the eco wall with green tropical plants and I am tempted to build a smaller version of it at my house one day. Hmm, I need to figure out how to water all of those plants before hand. Please check back next time for more photos while I was travelling in Singapore and Malaysia as well. I will post photos of beautiful orchids!!!
